Primary Suspension by HAMM Mount
The primary suspension is the lower stage of a railway bogie suspension system, connecting the wheelset axle boxes to the bogie frame. HAMM Mount specializes in all rubber element types used in this critical location: chevron spring stacks, conical rubber springs, cylindrical rubber bushings, and rubber-metal sandwich elements. The primary suspension must carry the full vehicle weight plus dynamic loads from track irregularities while providing spring and damping functions that ensure safe vehicle dynamics including hunting stability, curving performance, and derailment resistance. Our primary suspension elements are designed and tested to meet the requirements of EN 13913 (rubber springs for railway vehicles) and EN 45545-2 (fire protection on railway vehicles). We supply primary suspension elements for bogie platforms manufactured by Alstom, Siemens, Stadler, CRRC, TMH, and other major rolling stock builders.
